UPDATE ON THE OLD SCHOOL VILLAGE HALL, OUSEFLEET
The floor is now down in the storeroom and main Victorian Hall. When we took up the flooring we found the floor joists in the storeroom and Victorian Hall so rotten they were only fit for burning! However, the floorboards in the main Victorian Hall were good enough to be kept and will be re-used by someone who kindly gave us a donation towards the Hall refurbishment.
We would like to thank all those who helped with taking up the flooring, laying the limestone and concreting, especially those who are not committee members who kindly gave up their time. It is nice to see that people want to help and enable the Hall to stay open so that we do not lose all the events and activities which take place such as Ousefleet Show, Bingo, Over 60's tea etc.
Unfortunately we were unsuccessful with the Natwest Community Force Grant but thank those of you who did vote for us. We will continue to apply for more grants and do fundraising events to get new windows, damp proof course, walls plastered etc. We did however receive a grant from the Co-operative Membership Community Fund for £2000 to pay for the finished floor covering to be purchased and laid. This will be done once some of the messy jobs such as the damp proof, pine cladding on the walls and plastering is complete. A further donation of £100 has been gratefully received from the Rotary Club of Goole.
The next Village Hall meeting is on Monday 12 March 2012 at 7.30pm at the Village Hall in Ousefleet. ALL WELCOME to join the committee. Thank you for your continued support.
Whilst the refurbishment is taking place, the Hall is available to hire along with the lovely big field for parties, meetings, weddings, clubs etc.

TUMBLE TIME PLAYGROUP
The Playgroup now runs on Wednesday afternoons 1.30pm - 3pm term time only for 0-4 year olds. A snack and drink is included in the price of £1.50 per family. Contact Helen Rudd on 01405 704000.
